Sing • Perform • Belong

Laidley District State School Choir gives students the opportunity to develop their singing skills, make music together, and experience the excitement of performing as part of an ensemble.

Choir is open to students who enjoy singing and are ready to make a commitment to regular rehearsals and performances. No previous choir experience is needed.

Throughout the year, students learn a varied repertoire and have opportunities to perform at school celebrations, special events, and community occasions.

JOIN THE CHOIR

🎶 Rehearsals

Choir rehearses each week during the school term.

When: Wednesdays, 2:45–3:30 pm
Where: Music Room
Cost: Free

Regular attendance is important. Each rehearsal builds on the previous week as students learn songs, practise singing together, and prepare for upcoming performances.

Students enrolled in Choir are expected to attend rehearsals unless they are absent from school or have another reason they are unable to attend.

After Rehearsal

Students should be collected promptly at 3:30 pm.

For duty of care, any student who has not been collected must return to the Music Room and remain with the supervising teacher. Students must not wait or wander elsewhere around the school grounds.

🎤 Join the Choir

Students interested in joining Choir need permission from a parent or carer.

CHOIR ENROLMENT FORM

Before enrolling, families should consider whether their child can regularly attend Wednesday afternoon rehearsals and scheduled performances.

Once enrolled, families will receive information about upcoming performances and other important Choir updates.

⭐ Being Part of Choir

Choir works best when everyone contributes to the ensemble.

Choir members are expected to:

  • attend rehearsals regularly

  • arrive ready to participate

  • listen to instructions and work cooperatively

  • practise songs when needed

  • represent our school positively at performances

  • let the Choir teacher know if they are unable to attend a rehearsal or performance

Most importantly, Choir is a place to enjoy singing, build confidence, make music with others, and be part of a team.
